Heather Berthoud, the principal of Berthoud consulting, is a thoughtful and trusted partner to organizational and community leaders. Her clients include Advocates for Youth, American Federation of Teachers, Center for Community Change, Greenpeace, Jobs with Justice, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Sierra Club. In addition to her consulting practice, she is faculty for the American University and a Professional Associate at the Gestalt International Study Center. She has authored several publications on diversity, planning, training and consulting.
Her most recent publications – “The Paradox of Diversity in Social Change Organizations” appeared in the Practicing Social Change, the online journal for NTL Institute; and “OD is Diversity: Differences are at the Heart of the Field,” in the Fall 2015 edition of OD Practitioner, the Journal of the Organization Development Network (Volume 47 No. 4) -reflect a particular interest in aligning action and aspiration, especially on issues of racial justice. She is a member of NTL Institute, the Organization Development Network, and the Gestalt International Study Center.
Heather has a Master of Science in Organization Development from American University and recently completed global leadership and organizational studies through the Gestalt iGOLD certification program. In addition she has nearly 20 years as a student and instructor of martial arts and 10 years studying yoga, plus lessons learned while hiking and biking.
